The White House released a video featuring presidents of the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association, Allied Pilots Association and National Air Traffic Controllers Association endorsing the Republicans' stopgap funding bill. Jody Reven said passing a clean continuing resolution is the biggest way to ensure safety, security and reliability of the national air traffic control system. Union leaders warned that a month of missed paychecks distracts and stresses TSA workers and air traffic controllers and will disrupt airport operations. White House officials framed the message as aligned with the president and criticized prolonged shutdown effects. The AFGE called for a clean CR, but Democrats have continued to seek language renewing expiring ACA tax credits.
