The three officials said in the lawsuit, filed in a Washington DC federal court, that they were fired by FBI Director Kash Patel in a "campaign of retribution" to purge officials considered disloyal to President Donald Trump."
""Patel not only acted unlawfully but deliberately chose to prioritize politicizing the FBI over protecting the American people," the lawsuit said. In the complaint, Driscoll said that Patel told him that the firings were "likely illegal," but maintained that he could not stop them because the White House and the Justice Department are determined to remove anyone involved in previous criminal investigations of Trump."
