Tom Homan, President Trump's border czar, rejected a CBS News poll indicating that 56% disapprove of the administration's deportation efforts, attributing any polling shifts to media misinformation about ICE. He argued that most individuals in ICE custody have a criminal history and described ICE enforcement as essential to national security. Homan accused media and political critics of inciting dangerous rhetoric against ICE and emphasized that officers are simply enforcing duly enacted laws by Congress relating to immigration.
I don't believe the polls. Second of all, if there's any movement in the polls at all, it's because of the false stories out there about ICE.
The majority of those in custody had a criminal history and those who didn't, including over 200 Iranian nationals, were a national security threat.
I think the media is purposely giving misinformation to the American people about what ICE is doing and is raising the rhetoric.
ICE officers are simply enforcing the laws that Congress enacted.
