A study of Mexican citizens detained in Los Angeles showed that over half had lived in the U.S. for at least a decade, with more than one-third residing for over 20 years. The research revealed that almost a third of the interviewees had U.S.-born children, contradicting the belief that many were recent immigrants. The findings emerged from interviews with 330 detainees during a series of immigration raids, exposing the deep roots of these individuals in American society and the fear these raids instigate among immigrant communities.
