Trump rejected the idea of circumventing that limit by running as vice president, calling the idea 'too cute' and 'not... right.' House Speaker Mike Johnson said there was 'no path' around the amendment and cited constitutional constrictions. Some Republicans, including Rep. Andy Ogles and CPAC activists, pushed to amend the amendment but the bill did not advance.
