Former staffers report Nancy Mace has become more erratic and difficult, with colleagues describing her as "not okay" and saying something in her behavior is "broken." Incidents include calling constituents "ugly," refusing town halls, accusing another member of statements she did not make, and using a congressional account to mock a transgender teacher who then received death threats. She publicly accosted TSA agents, claimed she has "fought the transgender community," and accused an ex-fiancé of drugging and raping her on the House floor. Staff allegedly were asked to perform personal tasks, create burner accounts, and boost her online reputation on Reddit.
