Forensic experts discovered significant edits in the surveillance footage of Jeffrey Epstein's prison wing on the night of his death. The Trump administration released the video to support the claim he committed suicide, but experts found nearly three minutes trimmed from the footage. Analysis revealed that the video was stitched together in Adobe Premiere Pro from two clips, one of which lost substantial time just before a minute of missing footage. Despite government assertions, the metadata indicated the file had been altered multiple times, contradicting previous official claims.
An analysis published by WIRED shows that the video file was modified multiple times and had nearly 2 minutes and 53 seconds trimmed before a one-minute gap in the footage.
The FBI and DOJ have reaffirmed that Epstein died by suicide, but the modified footage has reignited conspiracy theories rather than quelled them.
