NY Prosecutor Who Pulled Rank Over A Traffic Stop Gets Reprimanded, Plans To Retire - Above the Law
Briefly

Sandra Doorley, the Monroe County District Attorney, faced censure for attempting to evade a traffic stop for speeding. This censure follows her previous behavior during the stop, where she sought special treatment. The prosecutorial misconduct watchdog in New York issued its first public adjudication and noted her intent to retire. Speeding undermines safety laws, and Doorley’s actions reflect a disregard for those limits. Public officials are expected to uphold laws rather than seek exceptions based on their status.
New York's prosecutorial misconduct watchdog issued its long-awaited first public adjudication on Tuesday, announcing that Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley has agreed that she should be censured for seeking special treatment during an attempted police stop for speeding.
Doorley has indicated her intent to retire, according to the determination by the Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct.
