Rep. Meng introduces legislation that would require ICE agents to display badge number - QNS
Briefly

Rep. Grace Meng introduced legislation mandating ICE agents to visibly display their badge and identification number while conducting arrests and questioning. This legislation aims to enhance transparency and safety for both the public and law enforcement. The move comes amid debates about masked ICE agents, which have drawn criticism and have been likened to 'violent kidnappings' by some officials, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. ICE leadership acknowledges concerns over agent safety but emphasizes the importance of public identification.
NYPD officers have badges with identification numbers, as do IRS agents, as do FBI agents. And so we're simply asking them to have a mechanism of badge that identifies themselves.
