"Donald Trump ran on a platform that was, in large part, I believe, misrepresenting his intentions to the American people, Harris said. She said a fair amount of MAGA voters were lied to by Trump on inflation and other issues. Harris then said Trump's misrepresentation of intention and massive amounts of mis-and-disinformation contributed to her loss, before Ferguson jumped in to point out she avoided the question."
"Forgive me I want to interrupt you, because that is a world-class pivot, Ferguson said. But it is not the question that I asked you, which is about Joe Biden's failure to recognize his own frailties and what that did to you. The question is about Joe Biden. Are you still reluctant to criticize the former president? In what regard, please? Harris replied. Well just in terms of that question, so Ferguson started, before being cut off."
"Was it Joe Biden's decision, his failure to recognize his own frailties in that position, that put you in the position that made it almost impossible to win that race? Harris said she disagreed with the assessment, saying she never doubted Biden had the capacity to be the president of the United States. But she then said she had concerns about Biden's ability to endure a presidential campaign."
ABC TV reporter Sarah Ferguson pressed former Vice President Kamala Harris on whether President Joe Biden's failure to recognize his own frailties made it nearly impossible for Harris to win the 2024 Democratic nomination. Harris avoided that direct critique, instead criticizing Donald Trump for misrepresenting intentions, lying to MAGA voters on inflation and spreading massive amounts of misinformation, which she said contributed to her loss. Ferguson interrupted and labeled the response a "world-class pivot," repeatedly trying to return to the Biden question. Harris said she disagreed that Biden lacked capacity but expressed concerns about his ability to endure a presidential campaign.
