Trump Undergoes Emergency Heart Tests After Swelling Detected
Briefly

After noticeable swelling in Donald Trump's ankles was reported, he underwent medical testing. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated Trump has a benign condition called Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), which affects blood flow in the legs. His medical evaluation included venous doppler ultrasound and an echocardiogram, confirming normal heart health. CVI can lead to discomfort, but is not considered a serious health threat. Concerns about Trump's health persist, especially given his age and diet, raising questions about his future in office.
In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs. In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit.
Leavitt told reporters his evaluation included venous doppler ultrasound and an echocardiogram of his heart, which confirmed normal cardiac structure and function.
Without treatment, CVI can lead to swelling, cramps, varicose legs, and leg ulcers, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. While it's not a serious health threat, it can be painful and disabling.
