Cartken, a startup known for food delivery robots, is expanding its focus to industrial applications. Co-founder Christian Bersch revealed that companies expressed interest in utilizing their robots in factories and labs. The need for optimized material and production flows in industrial settings was recognized as significant. In 2023, Cartken secured its first industrial client, ZF Lifetec, who began using their Cartken Courier robot for moving production samples. This shift proved successful, leading Cartken to concentrate on industrial solutions while also maintaining its food delivery partnerships.
Cartken co-founder and CEO Christian Bersch stated, "What we found is that actually there's a real big need in industrial and onsite use cases. Sometimes there have even been more direct value to companies optimizing their material flows or their production flows."
Bersch explained, "Our food delivery robot started moving production samples around, and it's quickly turned into our busiest robot of all. That's when we said, hey, there's like real use cases and real market need behind it."
