Arc Raiders' first new map arrives this month, bringing even more Arc units, just as the game casually breaks its own Steam record again
"Over the weekend, Arc Raiders broke its own Steam concurrent record yet again. After having peaked at 264,673 concurrent players the day it came out - already above any of its previous free tests, the game shattered that figure on Sunday. It seems word of mouth has been really positive, because the PvPvE shooter just casually added nearly 100,000 new players, peaking at 354,836 concurrent players (via SteamDB) just two days afterwards."
"For starters, the first post-launch map, Stella Montis, will be available in the game this month. November will also see the first post-launch additions to the Arc army, with Matriarch and Shredder now joining the fray - though it's unclear whether or not they're exclusive to the new map. If you've been playing the game, you'll have no doubt seen that Stella Montis is visible on the world map."
Arc Raiders launched to strong player numbers and positive reception, repeatedly breaking its Steam concurrent-player records. Player peaks rose from 264,673 at launch to 354,836 within days, driven by word of mouth. Embark posted a roadmap on Twitter outlining imminent additions, including the Stella Montis post-launch map and new Arc units Matriarch and Shredder in November. The game uses progressive unlock mechanics that reveal map content as players complete rounds. A Community Unlock event is scheduled, along with new quests and gameplay items, with additional content planned for December to continue post-launch support.
