Half of adults in their sixties and seventies engage in gaming weekly, while one-third of those in their eighties also play. Older gamers enjoy keeping their minds sharp, unwinding, and having fun. Video games can offer cognitive benefits and social engagement, especially in multiplayer formats. Gaming continues to grow across age groups, with around 205.1 million players in the U.S. and a balanced gender representation among gamers.
"As long as you keep your brain active and functioning, you're not going to sit there and just deteriorate away," Will, 72, who games as GrndpaGaming, told The Guardian.
"I've learned some things I don't want to learn," Michelle Statham, who streams as TacticalGramma, told The Guardian.
