Samantha Kelly, the voice of Princess Peach and Toad for 18 years, was not included in the recent Mario Kart World release. Laila Berzins and Courtney Lin announced they are now the voices of Toad and Princess Peach, including Baby Peach. Berzins has voiced characters in Hades and Genshin Impact while Lin's credits include Neon White and Monster High. Both new voice actors express respect for their predecessors and share their excitement about taking on these iconic roles.
"These characters are so much bigger than ourselves," Lin posted on her social media. "I am so honored and honestly can still hardly believe it. I have so much respect for all of the Peaches that came before me, especially the one I grew up with. I will do my best with every opportunity I am given, and I hope you all have been enjoying the game!"
Berzino added that she's living a childhood dream and wanted to pay respects to the VAs before her. "I am so inspired by the magnificent Toads before me, Jen Taylor and Samantha Kelly. The gaming community owes them a huge debt of gratitude for the years they've spent bringing these characters to life," Berzino posted. "I hope to do this little mushroom proud! He's a fun guy! Get it? Fungi? Anyway...immensely grateful to Nintendo and Cup of Tea studios. Here we go!"
