Nicklas Backstrom, the longtime center for the Washington Capitals, has relocated to Sweden and placed his McLean mansion on the market for nearly $12 million. He purchased the property in 2021 for $8.5 million. The mansion boasts seven bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms, a sauna, steam room, six fireplaces, a theater, gym, bar, elevator, and a primary suite with a covered deck. After undergoing hip surgery and not playing since October 2023, he is expected to sign with Brynäs IF following the expiration of his Capitals contract.
