Pierre-Luc Dubois suffered a lower-body injury after his knee appeared to buckle during a defensive-zone faceoff against the New York Islanders and required assistance to leave the ice. He missed the remainder of that game and the next contest versus Buffalo. The Capitals say the team does not yet know if surgery will be required and are gathering more information. Dubois has played six of 12 games this fall, has no points, and averages 15:32 of ice time. Coach Spencer Carbery called the loss significant and said other players and staff will need to compensate.
