Spencer Carbery, who elevated the Caps, is the NHL's coach of the year
Briefly

Spencer Carbery was unexpectedly honored with the Jack Adams Award during an interview meant to be a reflection on the Washington Capitals' season. This award is presented annually to the NHL coach contributing the most to their team's success. Carbery, the first Capitals coach to win since 2016, expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing that while the ultimate goal is winning the Stanley Cup, the recognition signifies a significant achievement at the coaching level, joining the ranks of esteemed past recipients.
As a head coach, as a coach at any level in any league in the world, it's the highest individual honor that you can receive. I know the No. 1 goal is always and always will be the Stanley Cup.
But when it comes to recognition of a coaching staff and a coach, it's the highest honor. When you look at some of the names on that trophy, it's pretty humbling. Just really, really grateful.
