Yegor Chinakhov has requested a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Could he be the 'skilled player' the Capitals are looking for this offseason?
Briefly

Chris Patrick, the general manager for the Washington Capitals, is actively seeking to add a skilled player to enhance the team's performance. After a failed attempt to acquire Nikolaj Ehlers during free agency, the Capitals are now focusing on potential trades. Winger Yegor Chinakhov has expressed a desire to leave the Columbus Blue Jackets after misunderstandings with the team's coach, Dean Evason. Following a long injury absence, Chinakhov's ice time and performance have declined, prompting his trade request as he seeks a fresh start.
"I had some misunderstandings with the coach during the season," Babaev quoted Chinakhov as saying. "Now I would be glad to have a trade. I would like to move to a different location."
"I'm surprised [Babaev] went public," Waddell told Portzline. "But I'm not surprised because we've talked about it. He got back [from injury] and didn't play well, and fell out of favor."
Chinakhov's issue in Columbus appears to stem from his relationship with Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason. After returning from a 39-game absence due to a back injury this past season, Chinakhov saw his average ice time cut to 12:42 per game."
