Sasha Colby, the first trans woman of color to win 'RuPaul's Drag Race', participated in a ceremonial first pitch at Nationals Park for Pride Night. Although her pitch was not perfect—she practiced without heels—Colby expressed joy in the experience. The event also featured a groundbreaking drag show before the game, marking a first for Washington's Pride night. Organized by Team DC, the pregame show was infused with excitement and celebration, underscoring Colby's role as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and the importance of sports participation.
"I didn't do it in heels when I practiced," Colby said after bouncing her pitch. "But I've heard that I did better than some people in flats."
"On the count of three, I want you to pretend this is a Beyoncé concert," said host Inita D before opening the show. "Three other performers in sparkly, sequined costumes followed, dancing their way through the gathering crowd."
