Go-Ahead Group has introduced a new feature allowing bus passengers to store season tickets directly on their payment card within Google Wallet. The system is currently being piloted on Brighton & Hove Buses and was developed in collaboration with Google and Littlepay. Passengers can purchase a season ticket and attach it to their Google Wallet payment card, then tap their device on bus validators just like contactless pay-as-you-go users. This represents the first UK deployment of season tickets held directly on payment cards within Google Wallet for standard contactless bus validation.
