Why this distillery's bottles are as unique as its bourbon
"I got into this business because I love it. Besides being a father and a husband, this is my passion. We blend bourbon, and we're proud of the product we've created. If you love bourbon—or even if you're just curious—we've got great cocktails waiting for you."
"Our blending philosophy is about showcasing variety. By combining different recipes and grains, we create a flavor profile that's layered and unique, much like what you'd find in a blend like Johnnie Walker Black Label."
"I wanted to create a bottle you'd think about keeping long-term, like a decanter. It reflects our brand's attention to detail and commitment to going the extra mile."
Olde Raleigh Distillery, founded by Brandon McCraney in January 2021, has become a downtown Zebulon landmark symbolizing community revitalization and craftsmanship. The distillery distinguishes itself through Scottish-inspired blending techniques, sourcing bourbon barrels from across the United States and combining different mash bills featuring corn, malted barley, rye, and wheat. McCraney sources bourbons aged between 3 and 17 years from five different states to create layered, unique flavor profiles. The distillery features custom-designed bottles crafted with sustainability and artistry, reclaimed lumber bars spanning 30 and 60 feet, and operates as a true small business with hand-labeled and hand-packaged bottles.
