Frankie Dettori will end his two-year stint in the US after the main card of the 2025 Breeders' Cup at Del Mar and then complete his career with a few rides in South America. He first announced retirement in December 2022 intending to finish at the 2023 Breeders' Cup but instead moved to the US circuit and enjoyed two successful seasons, initially on the west coast and then based in Florida. His career began as a teenager in Italy. He is a top-25 US rider by prize money and ranks fourth for earnings per winner.
