India chase down record total to stun champions Australia and reach World Cup final
"it was really hard these last 12 months, but this feels like a dream and it's not sunk in yet, Rodrigues told Sky Sports a reference to a tricky period in which she has been in and out of the India XI."
"I cried every day throughout this tour, she said. I was not doing well mentally, going through a lot of anxiety, then being dropped was a big challenge for me. But [this innings] was not for me to prove a point, it was for me to win this match for India"
India chased 338 to beat Australia by five wickets, achieving the highest-ever run chase in women's ODI cricket. Jemimah Rodrigues finished unbeaten on 127 after being dropped three times on 52, 83 and 106. Annabel Sutherland conceded wides in a costly 48th over and Tahlia McGrath spilled a chance in the 44th over, while Amanjot Kaur struck the winning runs with nine balls to spare. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 89 but fell when 113 still required; Deepti Sharma was run out and Richa Ghosh was caught after two sixes. India advance to a home final against South Africa.
