"Iran is trying to pass a resolution prohibiting attacks on nuclear installations at the United Nations global nuclear watchdog as its Supreme National Security Council backed nuclear inspections after strikes by the United States and Israel during a 12-day conflict in June. Iran's top nuclear officials are now in Vienna to participate in the 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which starts later on Monday and ends on Friday."
Iran's Supreme National Security Council says there will be no inspections if biting UN sanctions are reinstated by the West. Iran is seeking a UN resolution to prohibit attacks on nuclear installations at the IAEA General Conference. Iranian nuclear officials are in Vienna for the 69th IAEA General Conference. The AEOI head Mohammad Eslami criticized IAEA director Rafael Grossi and accused the agency of lacking professional conduct and applying a double standard by condemning attacks on Zaporizhzhia but not attacks on Iran. Iran will negotiate with member states but acknowledged the resolution may not be put to a vote. Deputy nuclear chief Behrouz Kamalvandi said the US is pressuring states to block the resolution and has threatened the agency financially.
