On July 18, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported the capture of three Ukrainian settlements: Kamianske, Dehtiarne, and Popiv Yar. Russian air defences intercepted a Ukrainian drone heading towards Moscow and destroyed 46 Ukrainian drones over four hours. An exchange of war dead occurred, with 1,000 Ukrainian bodies traded for 19 Russian bodies. NATO's commander mentioned preparations to send additional Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, while Czech-procured shipments of artillery ammunition are increasing. Czech-coordinated shipments of artillery ammunition for Ukraine this year have totalled 850,000 shells, including 320,000 NATO 155mm calibre projectiles, with rising numbers.
