Chloë and her husband Joe updated a predominantly gray bathroom by painting and customizing an IKEA HEMNES vanity to introduce bold color. They added small band moulding from The Home Depot, cut with miter shears, to create decorative detail on flat drawer slabs and glued molding to the medicine cabinet fascia, clamping pieces to dry straight for a custom look. Chrome plumbing fixtures remained due to cost, and the project budget was about $1,000. They replaced an over-toilet cabinet with a Ballard Designs piece for a vintage vibe and required minimal demolition.
