AD Government Office / Agata Kurzela Studio
Briefly

The space, featuring a dramatic undulating roof on the top level of a heritage building, was designed for a government organization managing public projects. It faces challenges due to fluctuating office occupancy from external consultants. The design approach focused on rediscovering the building's architectural qualities and its genius loci. By reestablishing spatial logic and adding new volumes, the design pays tribute to the historical proportions while addressing the underutilization of the space through creative archeology.
The space is characterized by a dramatic, undulating roof, located on the last level of a heritage building designed for a government body overseeing major public projects.
A key challenge for this design was the fluctuating office occupancy due to varying numbers of external consultants, requiring flexibility in the layout.
Rediscovering the architectural qualities and genius loci of the building was central to the concept, allowing for a renewed appreciation of the space.
The addition of new volumes in the design pays homage to the architectural proportions while clarifying the logic of the previously underutilized space through creative archeology.
