Megs Senk and George Korsnick opened St. George Pizza in Warren, a small town in Maine, during winter. After four years of recalibrating their lives, they restored an 1820s building and integrated Shaker-style furniture. They envisioned a simple life focused on handmade goods and community connection. The pizzeria has quickly become a cornerstone for the local community, attracting creative individuals drawn to the region's artistic and individualistic spirit. They embraced a dream of creating something meaningful amid changing career landscapes.
Megs Senk: "There's a reason makers are drawn to this part of Maine. It attracts people who want to create things and be part of something-people with that New England pragmatism, even if they aren't originally from here."
George Korsnick: "We like making stuff. We realized that with the circa-1890 Astoria, Oregon, house we renovated, and again with our older house here. But this place-this pizza shop-was the dream we could never quite get to, until now."
