New London House, built in the 1970s, was designed with a planned tube station for the Jubilee line that was never completed. A significant amount of space was reserved for the station, including a ticket hall and escalator area. Although construction began, plans for the Jubilee line extension to Fenchurch were delayed. Eventually, some of the basement space was repurposed in 1982 as a wine bar, known today as Paris Grill, while the main station remains incomplete, leading to the upcoming demolition of the remains.
The remains of a partially built tube station next to Fenchurch Street are about to be demolished as part of plans to convert the office building above it into a hotel.
A substantial amount of space was allocated to London Transport for the new station, including a ticket hall area and a box for the escalators down to the platforms.
In 1982, approval was given to use part of the empty basement level space as a wine bar, which is now occupied by the Paris Grill.
Construction began in the 1970s for a tube station at Fenchurch Street, but plans to extend the Jubilee line to the station were delayed indefinitely.
