The survey of 1,000 registered voters, which had a 3.1% margin of error and was conducted between February 27 and March 3, found that 41% of respondents had a positive and 53% had a negative view of Trump, putting Trump 12 points below water. That was noticeably better than both Harris (34%-51%) and Newsom (27%-45%).
In prior surveys, the Democrats polling the highest typically consisted of former Vice President Kamala Harris, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), and California Gov. Gavin Newsom. But now, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg led the pack with 19% of respondents choosing him as their preferred Democratic candidate, according to the latest Granite State Poll. Newsom was a close second at 15%, and he was followed Ocasio-Cortez at 14%. Harris finished fourth at 11%.
HARRIS: In their lifetime, for sure. KUENSSBERG: Could it be you? HARRIS: Possibly. KUENSSBERG: Have you made a decision yet? HARRIS: No, I have not. KUENSSBERG: But you say in your book, I'm not done. HARRIS: That is correct. I am not done. I have lived, my entire career, a life of service. And it's in my bones. And there are many ways to serve. I've not decided yet what I will do in the future beyond what I am doing right now.
