He's got it in the back of his mind that if he fumbles one more time, they're probably going to bench him. And when you think about his story, being a seventh-round pick, not knowing if he was going to get the chance to play at the NFL level, right now, I think he's just trying to play without making a mistake, and it's impacted the way he runs the football.

Daniels had some exceptional moments at Northwest Stadium. He turned on the style over the second half, dragging the Commanders back from another deficit into the lead. Then, disaster struck. Daniels fumbled the football for a second time in the game, and this time he didn't get it back. Chicago seized the initiative, driving far enough downfield for veteran kicker Jake Moody to drill the game-winning field goal as time expired.

He knows there's times where he has to push and times where he has to be hard on us. It's a great dynamic that we have.

A mistake happened. It's training camp. Hopefully I can just get that out the way right now and go into the season clean.
