We already heard that the French international doesn't have a release clause in his contract (as was the case at Crystal Palace before). But, of course, no one could be 100% sure on the matter. Now, head of sport, Max Eberl, has officially confirmed that there is no release clause, and this was a clear sign to the Premier League to say, "You've got no chance of getting this player."

As long as he's still got an important role to play, for Manchester United, I still feel there's a willingness from all parties to get a new contract done. Maguire is very much open to staying at Man United. Luka Modric is continuing to show that age is just a number after a series of inspiring performances for Milan, including in Sunday night's 2-1 victory over Fiorentina, and now, it looks like the option to extend the Croatian's one-year contract is nothing but good news for the Rossoneri. Modric, who turned 40 in September, was a key player in Milan's 2-1 win over Fiorentina, leading the midfield, showing great vision and a spirit of sacrifice. The Rossoneri veteran won the ball back, controlled the space, and inspired his younger teammates, as he has done all season.

Denver Nuggets guard Christian Braun has agreed to a five-year, $125 million rookie contract extension with the franchise, agent Bill Duffy of WME Basketball told ESPN on Monday. Braun, the No. 21 pick in the 2022 NBA draft, has been a developmental find and success for the Nuggets brass. The Nuggets' top executives, Ben Tenzer and Jon Wallace, made it a priority to negotiate a new long-term deal to lock in Braun as part of the franchise's core moving forward.

Barcelona have confirmed that young prospect Landry Farré has signed a new contract with the club until 2028. The 18-year-old is widely considered to be one of the best defenders coming through the ranks at present and has now committed his future to the Catalan giants. Right after the extension news, I noted that while the cost seems high for what many consider to be a mid-tier center, it was a ' necessary evil' since Toronto's stats show they struggle whenever Poeltl is out. Last season, Toronto went 9-16 in games without Jakob Poeltl, and I vividly remember two matchups against the Memphis Grizzlies where the Raptors were absolutely obliterated, thanks in large part to monster performances by rookie Zach Edey.

The Tigers and manager AJ Hinch quietly agreed to a long-term contract extension during the 2025 season, president of baseball operations Scott Harris announced today at his end-of-season press conference ( video link). Harris and Hinch did not specify the length of the contract, but Hinch ostensibly is now signed through at least 2027. Harris effused praise for Hinch, calling him one of the best managers in the sport and saying he hopes to continue working with him "as long as I can possibly work with him."
