When Chesa Boudin was elected as San Francisco's district attorney, a powerful political and communications operation immediately went into effect to try to undermine his policies. Unrelenting news stories talked about huge increases in crime, about a lawless city, about how a progressive DA was making us all less safe.

For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering.

"The Legal Aid Society seems hell-bent on ignoring the plight of the victim while hampering the police at every turn," Ray Kelly, Gotham's longest-serving police commissioner, told me this week.

"They're putting in the effort. Now the criminals are scared; they know it's serious."

The premier made a poor-taste joke out of frustration for the many people affected by violent criminals out on our streets because of the federal government's broken bail system and soft-on-crime policies.

"On Monday morning, the page is turning, the page has turned," said Roberts, indicating a new leadership direction following the recall of Pamela Price.
