Throughout the 2025 season, Ernie Clement played every infield position for the Toronto Blue Jays. His efforts earned him Gold Glove nominations as a utility player and a third baseman. While he didn't win the award for either position, he cemented himself as a versatile defender who is effective no matter where he's positioned. Speaking with MLB Network recently, Clement talked about his attitude towards being a utility role.

Buxton and Clement will be participating in the event for the first time. They join a star-studded group that already includes New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, Seattle Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh and Philadelphia Phillies MVP Bryce Harper. Buxton appeared in 126 games for the Twins last season, hitting .264/.327/.551 with 21 doubles, seven triples, 35 home runs, 83 RBI and 24 stolen bases.

As well, Clement set another record earlier in the game. With a single in the second inning, he set a new MLB record for the most singles in a single postseason with 22. This also set a franchise record for the Blue Jays, with the right-hander extending his postseason hit streak to 13 games, overtaking Pat Borders for the record.
