The situation surrounding the death of Francis Gigliotti has sparked outrage among Haverhill locals as video footage shows him pleading for help just before he died. Witnesses reported he was behaving erratically and subsequently became unresponsive during an encounter with police.

[An] officer basically shot an unarmed person in the back of the head and then lied to the family about it for a year or more," said Bradley Yourist, a lawyer for the Valdez family. "It's pretty egregious.
"You can't undo what's been done to my client, but it is a substantial settlement. There's something sweet about the police having to pay Anthony after he had to take his licks from them."
