A family was rescued over the weekend from a house surrounded by the surging South Yuba River, south of Donner Summit. The rescue happened on Sunday afternoon along the South Yuba River, the Truckee Fire Protection District said in a Facebook post. The family became trapped in their house after the river swelled amid "significant rainfall."
