The Department of Justice alleged that the law centre defrauded donors by using their money to fund the very ideology it claimed to be fighting. It pointed to payments of at least $3m between 2014 and 2023 to people affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan, the United Klans of America, the National Socialist Party of America and other far-right groups.

Peel police say they arrested and charged a former union branch representative for allegedly misappropriating more than $100,000 in union funds. Mark Babcook, the former branch president of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Local 228, was charged with fraud over $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime, police said in a news release Wednesday. Babcook, 41, was arrested on Sept. 19. The arrest came after OPSEU conducted its own internal investigation and contacted Peel Regional Police with evidence that led to a criminal investigation, police said.

Christine Hunsicker, founder of the fashion startup CaaStle, was indicted on multiple charges, including wire fraud and securities fraud, and allegedly defrauded investors over $300 million.

"Today, the Supreme Court has clearly confirmed through its final ruling that the merger of Samsung C&T and the accounting treatment of Samsung Biologics were lawful," said Samsung's lawyers on Thursday.
