"It is not the critic who counts," President Theodore Roosevelt once said. "The credit belongs to the man who is in the arena." The Heritage Foundation has been in the arena for many years, fighting many battles, so it's no surprise that it has attracted many critics as well. And while Heritage cannot claim perfection, this much is certain: We have stayed true to our mission despite the critics;
Currently, all 50 states and Washington, D.C., offer no-fault divorce, which means that either party can end a marriage without having to provide a reason or prove any wrongdoing, like abuse or adultery. American marriages used to require a fault of some kind to dissolve, but some couples would agree upon a fictitious fault in order to divorce one another, or they would travel to a more lenient region of the country - these were known as divorce havens.
"Project 2025 was an effort of more than 100 organizations convened by Heritage to prepare for the next conservative administration," a Heritage spokesperson told "That administration is now in office, so all policy and personnel decisions are up to the president and his team. ... There is no Project 2026 and will not be, regardless of what leftist lunatics make up on BlueSky."
No institution that hesitates to condemn antisemitism and hatred or that gives a platform to those who spread them can credibly claim to uphold the vision that once made the Heritage Foundation the world's most respected conservative think tank. And, I cannot, in good conscience, remain on a board that is unwilling to confront the lapses in judgment that have harmed its credibility, its culture, and the conservative movement it once helped shape.
As part of that influence, Kevin Roberts -- president of the powerful Heritage Foundation and a key influence on Trump's policy decisions -- earlier this year visited Paris to speak to what he called "leaders of the French right", whom he declined to name. Roberts said during the trip in May that, while the foundation did not officially represent the US government, it could still knit together a network of ideologically aligned groups.
Since its creation in 2000, the Oversight Project has launched more than 100,000 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from federal offices and agencies and more than 100 lawsuits against the Joe Biden administration.
