The fun thing that we had sort of forgotten and then recently remembered was the end of the original [ Ready or Not] script. There was a tag that the writers, Guy [Busick] and Ryan [Christopher Murphy], wrote, which was a Le Bail conference that had a bunch of other families. It was percolating for a really long time.
2019's Ready or Not combined the rich, evil in-laws of Get Out with the deadly game of cat and mouse seen in countless other horror stories. The movie follows Grace (Samara Weaving) on her wedding night, which quickly takes a dark turn as her new husband's family forces her into a lethal game of hide-and-seek. But she survives, of course, and has her epic Final Girl bloody cigarette moment.
Everyone in north Denver knows Finn as the kid who escaped (and killed) the Grabber, but for some reason this hasn't led to his valorization; quite the contrary, when we first see him, he's beating the crap out of some new kid at school who dared to bring up his past. In other words, Finn is on the verge of becoming the surly bully he always feared.
