Inter's attackers must improve as they face Fiorentina after a poor run of form.
FC Barcelona has identified a need for greater defensive solidity, making the signing of a top-level left-footed central defender a priority, with Alessandro Bastoni as their main target.
The U16 side, which is led by the former Lazio and Parma midfielder Marco Parolo, kicked off the timeline of derby clashes earlier today. Thankfully, they managed to clinch all three points after a goal from Pietro Piazza in the 33rd minute.
Juventus are reportedly prioritising a move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as they prepare for a potential change between the posts. According to La Gazetta dello Sport in Italy, the Bianconeri view the 29-year-old as the ideal candidate to step in should Michele Di Gregorio depart, with discussions already taking place behind the scenes. However, the Turin giants are not alone in their pursuit.
The victory sees Cristian Chivu's side extend their unbeaten Serie A streak to 14 matches, while also increasing their cushion at the top of the table to 10 points. But Inter were made to work for their victory as Lecce dug in to deny the visitors a routine passage, with Luis Henrique seeing a controlled volley saved early on despite a heavy deflection. Marcus Thuram and Francesco Pio Esposito also saw efforts on target denied, with the latter's glancing header tipped around the post superbly by Wladimiro Falcone.
According to Italian media, Martinez is set to be sidelined for around a month after suffering a calf injury during Inter's shock Champions League play-off first leg loss to Bodo/Glimt in midweek. The Argentinian went off in the second half, and Inter confirmed the injury following medical tests on Friday. Inter have the second leg against the Norwegian side to come next week, as well as league clashes with Genoa, rivals AC Milan, Atalanta and a Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Como during his expected time out. "The examinations revealed a strain to the soleus muscle in his left calf. The condition of the Argentine forward will be reassessed next week," Inter said in a statement released on their website.
