Fteri beach in Kefalonia is a secluded paradise, named the second best beach in the world, accessible by hiking or boat.
More than anything the thought of an extra hour's drive after a four hour flight can naturally put people off. Trust me when I say, that additional hour is worth the effort. The drive up is not for the faint hearted but if you can stomach the mountain and coastal roads, you'll be treated to some stunning views and the only traffic you'll likely encounter is goats (there are around 10,000 of them on the Island).
