Compass has struck its biggest ever deal, agreeing to acquire European upmarket food firm Vermaat for approximately 1.5 billion euros, enhancing its food services portfolio.

Dublin is one of the most significant financial hubs in Europe, with a strong economy, favourable corporate tax rate and, post-Brexit, it has become an increasingly attractive access point for UK firms looking to trade with the EU.

Frasers Group has secured a financing package worth up to £3.5 billion, significantly boosting its financial capability for acquisitions and growth initiatives.

The official announcement went out in February 2020, shortly before the Covid pandemic took hold, making it a risky yet significant acquisition.
