New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza remains uncertain if Kodai Senga will get the ball for the next turn in his rotation, which is supposed to come on Sunday in Cincinnati against the Reds. Everything's on the table, Mendoza said prior to his team's series finale in Detroit against the Tigers. Whether he makes his next start, there's a lot going on right now. We just have to wait and see after we get through today.

When Tong was promoted last week, it wasn't clear if it was for a spot start with a ticket back to Triple-A Syracuse or a chance to stay in the rotation. After collecting his first win against the Miami Marlins in his debut, Tong earned at least one more start, slated for later this week. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed four runs in five frames, but only one was earned. He fanned six without issuing a free pass. Strikeouts were his calling card on the farm, punching out 162 in 102 frames.

Brandon Sproat is making it nearly impossible for the Mets to keep him down in the minors for much longer. The 24-year-old has hit his stride with Triple-A Syracuse after a bobble upon his promotion from Double-A Binghamton. He went six innings on Tuesday night, allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts. Over his last nine starts (48.1 innings pitched), he has a 2.05 ERA with 57 strikeouts and a 0.850 WHIP.
