Kyle Nelson has been released by the Braves after a non-roster deal, returning to the market for potential minor-league opportunities.
Winkler was a 10th-round draftee by the Athletics in 2021. The University of San Francisco product played four seasons in the A's system, peaking in Double-A. Miami grabbed him in the Triple-A phase of last offseason's Rule 5 draft. Winkler got a few looks as the final player on Clayton McCullough's bench over the course of the season. He appeared in 14 games, starting four of them in the middle infield.
Taylor, 27, was a tenth-round draft pick by Cleveland in 2016 and spent 2016-22 in the minors with them and the Blue Jays. He reached the Triple-A level in 2022, batting .258/.337/.426 with a 104 wRC+ in 280 plate appearances. He showed solid on-base ability with a 10.0% walk rate and also showed off his speed by stealing 23 bases.
He's Vinny Capra. The 29-year-old actually already has ties to New England/Boston. He was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 2018 MLB Draft and spent some playing time for Manchester, New Hampshire's Fisher Cats. After making his Major League debut with Toronto, he was traded alongside Tyler Heineman, who himself spent some time in the Red Sox system.
