The Transportation and Infrastructure team report included 20 recommendations, with suggestions to moving two light rail line expansions and designing a bus rapid transit system for South Jersey. They suggested allowing traffic enforcement cameras to address safety issues and to study an idea from Sherrill's Republican challenger.
"We were able to reach an agreement that boosts hourly pay beyond the proposal rejected by our members last month," BLET's Tom Haas said in a statement, noting that the new deal also aims to help with engineer recruitment and retention, without triggering fare hikes.
Now we have to miss out on our lessons and teaching and things that we love to do because they're on strike. We actually are not financially equipped to take a $70 train ride to Edison and then pay an additional $70 to come back.
