Visually impaired para-Alpine skiers compete with sighted guides using radio communication to navigate ski runs during Paralympic events.
With more than 600 Para athletes and 79 sets of medals to be awarded, Milan Cortina will feature a record number of athletes and medals. They will compete across six sports: Para alpine skiing, Para biathlon, Para cross-country skiing, Para ice hockey, Para snowboard and wheelchair curling.
Industry News is once again at the center of the para alpine skiing world this week as it hosts the FIS Para Alpine Skiing World Cup from February 2-6, welcoming many of the sport's top athletes to the French Alps. The event serves as a critical competitive checkpoint on the road to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and shows Tignes' decades-long commitment to inclusive winter sport.
