"The legendary musician Pete Escovedo is commemorating his 90th birthday with a short residence at Yoshi's, including a new exhibit showcasing his original artwork."
"I was very fortunate that I had a nice art teacher. She would let me go in the back room and use the oils, but she didn't let all the kids use them. I'd be back there painting and doing my thing. She would tell me to paint whatever I feel," Escovedo said.
"Pops started painting at a very young age. It was music and art that were his life. But then, he just wanted to do music, and thank God, because now we have Pete Escovedo winning Grammys and all kinds of awards," said daughter Zina Escovedo.
