Stephen Curry scored 27 points and Jimmy Butler finished with 21 as the Golden State Warriors beat the Brooklyn Nets 120-107 on Monday night. Curry shot 8 for 15 from the field while Butler went 11 for 12 from the free throw line for the Warriors, who bounced back from an overtime loss in Toronto in Sunday to win for the fourth time in five games. Trayce Jackson-Davis added 11 points and Gary Payton II, De'Anthony Melton and Will Richard each chipped in 10. Michael Porter Jr. had 27 points and rookie Egor Demin added 23 for the Nets, who had their three-game winning streak stopped.
After thirty-one regular season games, the Brantford Bulldogs find themselves atop the Eastern Conference standings with fifty-one points and a 23-3-4-1 record (wins, losses, overtime losses, shootout losses). Their most recent result was a 2-0 home win over the London Knights. The USC women's basketball team earned a commanding 79-33 win over Saint Mary's at Galen Center on Tuesday night. A small, but enthusiastic crowd cheered for the defense any time the Trojans forced a turnover. USC (6-2) held the Gaels (5-4) to under 30% shooting in the paint and 15% from the three-point line. Sophomore Kennedy Smith added 15 points and five rebounds.

A start of a new season in Queens has brought new players and new uniforms to St. John's but the product on the court was very similar from a season ago. The Johnnies were sluggish and cold offensively to start its exhibition slate against Towson before turning up the defensive pressure and getting timely buckets after halftime, turning an 8-point deficit into a 10-point win, 73-63.
Nor was it really a lead change to remember: It happened well before the game got interesting, when A'ja Wilson hit a three to put the Aces up 9-8 early in the first quarter. But the cruel fact of the Las Vegas Aces in these Finals is they never let games get too interesting. For every flicker of hope, they bring the extinguisher.
