"It's been good so far," Odelius said of rookie camp after day four. "Good to see all the boys again and finally start to compete again. It's been a long summer and I'm excited to be back." Like many young European players, Odelius needed time to adapt to the smaller North American ice. "Probably the small ice," he admitted when asked about the biggest adjustment. "You have so much less time with the puck and everyone's so much faster."
"Yeah, obviously it was uh super high intensity. Everyone's competing. Everyone's giving it their best. So, it was a lot of fun," Aitcheson said after stepping off the ice. While he's still new to the organization, Aitcheson senses the shift happening on Long Island. "I think obviously there's so many great players on the current roster now and I think the young guys are just trying to learn from them and learn from all the coaching staff here
"Yeah, it was awesome," Ritchie said after day one on Long Island. "I think it's a really good group of guys. A lot of talent, a lot of great prospects here. So, it's been a lot of fun so far. Good way to get the juices flowing before camp for real training camp."
Dave and Producer JL will be in the booth tonight, discussing rookie camp and which kids have a real chance to break camp with the Rangers. There will also be a secondary group of kids that may get injury call ups later in the season. As always we will be answering your questions. It's honestly our favorite part of the pod. The questions are great and they help keep us on our toes.
One player who is expected to make a strong run for a spot on the Boston roster is center Fraser Minten, who finished the season with the B's after being obtained from Toronto in the Brandon Carlo trade. Other players to watch are former Umass forward Dans Locmelis, the 2022 fourth round pick who played very well at the end of the season with the Providence Bruins (3-9-12 in six games).
